“Being a Digital Leader has helped build my confidence.”
Digital Leaders are students who are adept at using technology and are willing to share their knowledge and skills with others. Through working with staff, peers and school leaders, Digital Leaders are able to help shape how technology is used in and outside of the classroom.

What and why do we need Digital Leaders?
The school’s motivation for establishing Digital Leaders was a means to “embed technology across all curriculum areas so that it became part of everyday teaching and also to equip them employability skills and transferable digital skills.” The DLs were expected to become “ICT Ambassadors”, raising the status of ICT skills of staff and pupils in the first instance.
When spoken to as a group, the DLs felt that one of their main roles for this year was in helping teachers and pupils use emerging technologies more efficiently, especially HWB. Areas such as:
- j2e – j2data, JiT, J2blast, j2code
- Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Sway
- Encyclopaedia Britannica
- Sending/receiving e-mails (with and without attachments)
Our digital leaders created a tutorial to help you work your way around HWB and help your child with j2e. To view the video, visit:
