Community First at Gnoll Primary School

c1stlogo_web_v_397x152Communities First supports people to come together to tackle the issues which matter to them in their local area. Throughout the lifetime of the programme, Communities First partnerships have worked with and helped to set up, numerous community groups. These groups are then supported to work with partner organisations to make a real difference in their community.

The Communities First programme works to address the issues needed to improve the quality of life in the local area.  The programme addresses three themes that can overlap each other.  The three themes are:
  • Health
  • Prosperity
  • Learning

The local team work with partners to bring about changes in the local area, involving community members as much as possible in the process. Examples of some of the work under each theme can be found in our Communities First Newsletters and Communities First Projects page.

The staff are currently based in the Melin Advice Centre in Neath East and also have drop in surgeries in Briton Ferry Library and a presence in Neath Civic Centre.  For further information or to get involved please contact David Edwards and the Neath Cluster Communities First Team on –
